First, why I am comparing Dolphin to old Wii? It can play Gamecube games and support GC Pads.
Hello and welcome to In My Horrible Opinion #2. I’ll be proving you that Dolphin is way better than Wii. I’ll try to make it like PSVita vs 3DS article not so long ago, so everything will be decided in five categories: Compatibility, Graphics, Controls, Sound and Functions.

1. Compatibility!

This is the only category, where Wii wins. Although compatibility of Dolphin is very huge, still some games work better on Old Wii, and there are many issues in Dolphin-Emulator. Shame. List of them can be found here. So, against my will, Wii wins that one.

2. Graphics!

And here ends the Wii domination. According to some of the newest relases, Dolphin is able to display Wii games on 4K screen without pixelisation. You can add anti-aliasing, filtering, disable lighting, fog, bla bla bla. But it looks awesome, while Wii even can’t be connected via HDMI, which leaves us with the exact resolution that N64 had, 640×480. (I found in some sources 854×480, but well, I’ve seen Wii for real, and played for real, and I doubt it was more than 640×480)

3. Controls.

So, yaaaaay! It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this!

…but seriously, time to play MKWii. Facepalm after facepalm. Hopefully you can also have NUNCHUCK!

…which is also useless in SSBB. That’s why we need GAMECUBE CONTROLLER!
…which is hard to get. You can always get WII CLASSIC CONTROLLER!
…which lacks many buttons. Then you have to come back to Wiimote + Nunchuck. In order to work you need SENSOR BAAAAAAR!

…which also costs some money. That’s why Dolphin also wins this category. It doesn’t matter, if you have got DualShock 3, or Xbox 360 pad, or even Market 0,05€ one. Everything works with Dolphin, and you can connect even Wii Clasic Controller, which can be used as emulated Wiimote or GC Pad, or Wiimote + Nunchuck, or GC Controller. You should try it.

4. Sound. 

So I herd U hav got 7.1 in ur home? And Wii connected to TV? Forget. Time to get on your PC and try to run Dolphin. Some music will be, Shaymi-ng (embarrasing). But, anyway, in hits as Pikmin (GC), Metroid (Any), Mario (Any), Super Smash (Any) without any doubts you can connect 7.1 and enjoy wonderful sound. So, we know for sure that Dolphin won. Can Wii get last point?

5. Functions.

And that is last because it’s the hardest part to write about. Dolphin has got Save States, can connect any controller, can TAS, load Wii menu, Netplay, import Wii saves, export Wii saves, add AR and Gecko codes, extract files from ISO, BUT, it can’t fe. Access settings in Wii menu. It doesn’t have Homebrew Channel, nor Riivolution. You can’t play in Nintendo Internet (but it has slow Netplay as higher) and I guess that lack of that major features (and many major features) gives us a draw.
