[PSVita] Top ten most anticipated PS Vita games

February 21, 2012 in News, PSVita

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is the most anticipated game launching with Sony’s new handheld console, the PS Vita.

According to a survey of more than 1,300 British gamers, the most anticipated PS Vita game is Uncharted: Golden Abyss, developer Naughty Dog’s handheld adaptation of the popular PlayStation 3 series.

The survey was conducted by the UK’s most popular discount voucher code website www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk after seeing a huge rise in the number of people searching for money off Sony’s new console and titles.

Survey participants were provided with a full list of confirmed PS Vita titles and asked to select which of these titles they were most excited about. Second on the list is Call of Duty – which has a tentative release date of ‘Autumn 2012’. Despite little else being known about the release, more than two thirds of gamers said they were looking forward to it.

Escape Plan is the tenth most-anticipated title and as a PSN-only downloadable title is the cheapest at £9.99.

The most highly anticipated games in order of the number of respondents who said they were excited about the game are:

1.       Uncharted: Golden Abyss – 73%
2.       Call of Duty – 68%
3.       Wipeout 2048 – 62%
4.       Mod Nation Racers Road – 58%
5.       Ridge Racer – 53%
6.       Silent Hill: Book of Memories – 51%
7.       Rayman Origins – 47%
8.       Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath – 42%
9.       FIFA Football – 39%
10.      Escape Plan – 38%

The survey also asked gamers what they thought of the Vita’s capabilities. 46% said they were looking forward to trying the unique back touch panel, and almost a third, 31%, said they thought they would use the console to use free apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Skype.

Mark Pearson, founder of www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk had the following to say,

“Other than the 3DS, there have been very few console launches in the last few years and the Vita seems to be doing enough to interest gamers, helped by its strong list of launch titles.

“Having played all of the ‘Uncharted’ games so far, I too am looking forward to getting my hands on it. Given that we receive millions of unique visits a month from people searching for money off online purchases, it’s testament to the marketing of the Vita that we’re receiving hundreds of thousands of searches for the console and games itself.”

He continued,

“Our onsite searches almost match the survey results, with Uncharted: Golden Abyss the most searched for Vita title by quite some way.
