Kaiser Chiefs recommends fans to collect money for Right To Play by playing Kinect Sports run as part of the Xbox “Summer Stadium” campaign

Microsoft has announced the British indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs will be ambassadors of the “Xbox Summer Stadium” sport and entertainment campaign, which will take place from 15 June to 12 August 2012. As part of this role, the band has given support to Microsoft’s partner Right To Play, by telling fans to donate to that charity.

On 16 June 2012 at 7:00 PM (Central European Time), fans over all Europe are invited to to make a 100 meter run in the game Kinect Sports, to help breaking the Guinness World Record for having the largest amount of people doing an online race at the same time. Not only players should get a chance to break the record, Microsoft will as well donate money to Right To Play for every person joining. Right to Play uses these contributions with the power of gaming, kids having hard times to learn, and make them stronger.

Kaiser Chiefs lead singer, Ricky Wilson: “We are proud to support Right To Play, and we want to make sure our fans and the Xbox communities will support this charity. Tomorrow, 16 June, I will help people from whole Europe with this run on Xbox LIVE. It just takes 10 seconds of your time to just help kids over the whole world.”

On the weekend of 15-17 June 2012, Xbox will give all Europeans free access to the Xbox LIVE Gold services*, this includes people without Xbox LIVE Gold subscription also.

During the Xbox Summer Stadium campaign, sport fans will also get the opportunity to support their own country in weekly online tournaments. The Xbox Summer Stadium campaign will end in the weekend of 10 August with an exclusive concert of the Kaiser Chiefs. Xbox LIVE Gold members be able to see this convert using the MUZU.TV entertainment app on Xbox LIVE.

* Xbox LIVE Gold will become available without extra costs from 1:00 PM CET on 15 June 2012 ’till 1:00 PM CET on 18 June 2012.
